Required by law for any age to operate a boat in Canada with any size and type of motor. Available in on-line self-study format. Course is available to start immediately, 24/7, for sixty days. Most complete the study in one evening. This card satisfies all Transport Canada and U.S. National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA), and officially recognized by the US Coast Guard. On completion, your wallet card is mailed to you.

In our landlocked city of Calgary, there is no drop off place for expired marine distress flares. Do not use any of the City of Calgary recycling stations for this purpose.
Instead, call 311 and say you have expired marine flares and they will send a fireman or police officer to drop by and collect those 'dangerous goods' items from you.
Home of the Maritime Radio VHF Certification
The Maritime Radio course teaches standard operating vocabulary & phrases, emergency radio procedures, phonetic alphabet, and frequency choices. Learn about Digital Selective Calling ‘DSC’ and the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System ‘GMDSS’. Also known as the Restricted Operator Certificate (Maritime) ‘ROC(M)’. It is a legal requirement to have this certification to operate a maritime radio. On completion, your wallet card is mailed to you.
